Diving competitions are held in two main categories:
Platform diving: Divers jump from platforms at heights of 5, 7.5, and 10 meters. They perform a series of dives, each with a different degree of difficulty.
Springboard diving: Divers jump from springboards at heights of 1 and 3 meters. They perform a similar series of dives as platform divers.
Divers are judged on their execution of the dive, their form, and their entry into the water. The overall score is based on the following criteria:
Take-off: The diver's jump should be clean and powerful.
Flight: The diver should maintain a streamlined position and execute the planned rotations.
Entry: The diver should enter the water vertically and with as little splash as possible.
Diving is a physically demanding sport that requires strength, flexibility, and coordination. It is also a mentally challenging sport that requires focus and concentration. Diving can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities.
